With future MIL laid up due to surgery, G and I took on an active role in the kitchen today making dinner to enjoy some family time. The weather finally turned to Spring, so we were able to celebrate the warmth with open doors and bird songs accompanying our supper as well. It was a great Sunday!

If you’re totally new to the whole bridal shower thing, you are not alone! Last weekend my future MIL graciously threw me a bridal shower with G’s side of the family in his hometown, but going into the celebration I really didn’t know what to expect. Choosing one friend above another is a difficult decision to make and bringing family and future family into the mix does not help matters. Add in the possibility that you’ve been a bridesmaid or maid of honor in one of your best friends’ weddings and the whole concept of choosing a maid of honor can be a stress-inducing mess!

In reference to this study, the word “alone” will be defined in terms of an intimate and romantic relationship, not as being completely and utterly with one’s self.
I have never been a person who has enjoyed her solace and aloneness up until the past few months. However, ever since Army and I broke up, I have felt this calmness in myself when I think of being alone. I don’t have to worry about someone else’s feelings, I don’t have to schedule my days around someone else, and I can completely focus on myself and the things that make me happy. If I had still been in a relationship, I would never have forced myself into new situations (like Ultimate, House, or going out of my way to make new friends). I feel comfortable in my aloneness. It suits me, at least for now.
